Fiber Optic Splice Closure (FSC) Products

What is a Fiber Optic Splice Closure?

A Fiber Optic Splice Closure, often abbreviated as FSC or FOSC, is a protective enclosure used to house and protect optical fiber splices. It provides mechanical integrity and environmental protection for the spliced fibers, ensuring long-term reliability in various outdoor and indoor installations. As a direct manufacturer, we design our closures to be airtight, waterproof, and resistant to harsh conditions, making them ideal for aerial, underground (duct), and direct burial applications.

Our Fiber Splice Closure Series

We offer a versatile range of fiber splice closures to accommodate different cable types (strand, loose tube), fiber counts, and installation environments. All our closures are engineered for easy re-entry and robust long-term performance.

Horizontal/Dome-Type Closure

Our horizontal (dome-type) closures are the most common choice for aerial and underground installations. They are cylindrical in shape, offering excellent sealing and high fiber capacity (typically up to 96 or 144 fibers). They are ideal for main distribution lines and larger FTTX projects.

Vertical/In-Line Closure

Designed for compact spaces, our vertical in-line closures are perfect for branching, splicing, and cable transition points. They are often used in building risers, handholes, and other space-constrained environments. They provide organized management for smaller to medium fiber counts.

Horizontal Tray-Type Closure

For applications requiring easy access and high-density splicing, our horizontal tray-type closures offer a user-friendly solution. They feature stacked splice trays that can be individually accessed without disturbing other splices, simplifying maintenance and future upgrades.

Key Features of Our Fiber Splice Closures

Superior Protection: Made from high-strength engineering plastics (PP/PC) with silicone rubber sealing gaskets, providing IP68-rated waterproof and dustproof.

protection.Reliable Mechanical Strength: Designed to withstand harsh environments, including temperature variations, UV radiation, and mechanical stress for aerial and burial installations.

Easy Installation & Re-entry: Features like mechanical sealing, tool-less opening, and modular splice trays simplify installation and future network maintenance.

Versatile Cable Management: Accommodates various cable diameters (round, flat, ribbon) with multiple cable entry ports and secure fastening systems.

Frequently Asked Questions about Fiber Splice Closures

The main difference lies in the application and shape. Dome-type (horizontal) closures are typically used for high fiber counts in main lines and are installed aerially or underground. In-line (vertical) closures are more compact and used for branching, splicing in ducts, or inside buildings where space is limited. Both provide excellent protection.

Our closures come in various sizes to accommodate different fiber counts. We offer models that can hold from as few as 12 fibers for small branches, up to 144, 288, or even 576 fibers for high-density trunk lines. Please check our product pages for specific capacities or contact us for your requirement.

Yes, all our fiber splice closures are designed for re-enterability. Whether using mechanical clamping or sealing tape/gel, the closure can be opened for adding new splices or maintenance and then resealed effectively without compromising protection, provided the sealing surfaces are clean.

Our closures are designed to be compatible with most common outdoor fiber optic cables, including single-jacket, double-jacket, armored, and ribbon cables. The cable entry ports can accommodate various diameters, and we provide different sealing options (like heat-shrink or gel) for different cable types.
